We know there are many reasons why putting a meal on the table every night is a challenge, our homemade meals are designed to help you out. We offer a mix of kiwi comfort meals and interesting fusion dishes that are hearty and nutritionally balanced. Our meals are cooked fresh each Tuesday and ready to heat and eat or freeze.
We believe great food is essential anytime you have a crowd coming together. Whatever the occasion we’ve got you covered from canapés and grazing platters to a buffet or three course meal. We work to your budget and have incredible staff to make sure your guests go home well feed and talking about the awesome food.
Small Group Catering
Work place shouts, packed lunches and tasty finger food spreads are our specialty. We are so proud of the delicious morning and afternoon teas we create and offer a drop-off service within the Ashburton, Geraldine and Methven area. Ideal for meetings, training courses or family get togethers. Minimum group size of 12 people.

Our tasty collection of meals, desserts and thoughtful treats are the perfect way to offer support or just treat someone special to a night off having to think about what to cook for dinner. If you’re a practical person, this is an amazing gift!
These carefully put together baskets of quality ingredients and simple recipes make feeding a crowd at Christmas easy. We offer a one-stop-shop with everything you need to serve a fancy three course meal to 10 people. Our step-by-step instructions take the pressure away so you have more time to enjoy the festivities of Christmas day.

COVID Level 2 update
We have some important things to let you know!
– As we are under Level 2 restrictions, we will be implementing contactless delivery. This means our drivers will drop your box of meals at the door and will not be able to come into contact with you.
– All of our drivers will be wearing mask and gloves and delivery vehicles will be thoroughly disinfected before and after delivery runs.
Where do you deliver to?
Methven, Mt Somers Village, Staveley, Alford Forest and Mayfield on a Tuesday afternoon and Ashburton on Wednesday.
What time do you deliver?
We aim to deliver to Methven between 3.30-5.30pm on a Tuesday and Ashburton 9-1pm on a Wednesday.
Pick ups from Foothills HQ at 59 Pattons Road from 3-6pm Tuesdays.
Can I get delivery to areas outside of Methven?
Send us an email… Tell us where you live and the more demand we get, then yes we can consider it!
What if I am not home when you drop off?
Leave a Chilli bin or cooler bag out for us or direct us to an outside fridge.
When does my order need to be in by?
5pm Monday for meals that week.
How big are the serving sizes?
A medium is perfect for the medium size eater, large is for one hungry person.
How long do I heat the meals for?
Loosen the lid and let a bit of air get to the dish then microwave 3-5mins, or until piping hot, we do think this is the best option as it heats through quickly.
Can I pay on delivery?
Yes absolutely, whatever is easiest for you. We are happy to accept cash or pay direct into our bank acc 38 9019 0896696 01.
Do you cook in a registered kitchen?
Yes we sure do! Foothills Catering HQ is based in Mt Somers where we work out of a fully registered commercial kitchen.
Do you serve meals ‘Family size’?
Yes! Try one of our Family meal options these serve 4-6 and come ready to put in the oven for when you don’t feel like cooking.
Can you cater for food allergies?
Yes, but please let us know if you have a food allergy and the severity of your condition before or when ordering.
We are generally happy to adapt our recipes to suit your dietary requirements.
Gluten free is never a problem just as long as you let us know in advance.
Is your packaging environmentally friendly?
Yes this is very important to us. Where we can we use Plantbased packaging.
Our current packaging is made from Sugarcane fibre and Bamboo and is fully compostable, suitable for the oven up to 220deg, microwavable and freezable. We are always working on getting better at this and make every effort to make sure as much of our packaging as possible is recyclable or compostable.
Are your meals nutritionally balanced?
Yes! Jo’s dietician training means we are always mindful of creating nutritious meals.

Maddy is wife to Sean and mum to three busy girls. She is a successful restaurateur and thrives under pressure as co-owner/operator of Stronechrubie Restaurant, Mt Somers. Maddy has worked in hospitality for over 20 years and has an amazing ability to understand the customers needs.
Her experience ranges from serving members of parliament in Wellington to being a Flight Attendant at Ansett & Air NZ .
Maddy’s love for amazing food means she is always up-to-date with what is current in the culinary world, a highlight for Maddy was the cooking class she did while holidaying in China with Sean. Maddy is well connected with local suppliers, this means our food is made with minimal food miles and supports our local economy.
Jo is wife to Chris and mum to four growing boys. She is a fully trained dietician and brings her knowledge of health and nutrition to our homemade meal range. Jo has always loved to cooked and began her professional life serving dinner to 180 hungry students each night in a Dunedin Hall of Residence.
Experience working for Food Standards Australia New Zealand and The Ministry of Health means Jo has a comprehensive understanding of food safety and is passionate about safe healthy food.
Another passion of Jo’s is overseas travel and the eclectic culinary experience that comes with visiting other countries, this knowledge of international dishes means our flavours are always genuine and delicious.
